Florida is a member of both the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact and the Nurse Licensure Compact, and it offers a route neither compact provides: under section 456.47(4) an out-of-state clinician may register with the relevant board, designate a Florida registered agent, carry malpractice coverage at Florida limits, and treat patients located in the state remotely - without opening an office or providing in-person care here.
